Macron threatened Russia with retribution in case of refusal of negotiations
Russia will face serious consequences and will pay a high price if it refuses to continue negotiations. On October 12, French leader Emmanuel Macron wrote about this on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"If Russia continues to persist in its belligerent stubbornness and in its refusal to sit down at the negotiating table, it will have to pay the price," Macron said.
He stressed that France and its partners are currently considering the possibility of providing additional assistance to Ukraine, whose infrastructure was severely damaged as a result of the shelling.
On October 1, Macron called the US refusal to send troops to Ukraine a sign of weakness. According to him, such actions by the United States for France can be described as a "strategic ambiguity." At the same time, the president noted that the state needs to reduce dependence on the United States.
