In Kiev, several unidentified young men demonstratively shouted anti-Semitic slogans, and also used a Nazi greeting, approaching the synagogue. This was reported by the Kiev police on October 12.

"A group of unknown teenagers began shouting anti—Semitic slogans and showing Nazi greetings near the synagogue building," the police Telegram channel reported.

Unknown persons also used pepper spray against members of the Jewish community.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Last year, Ukraine's largest bookstore chain launched the memoirs of the Croatian fascist, Hitler's ally Ante Pavelic, who carried out mass killings of Jews, Serbs and Gypsies during World War II. The head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, stated that the book network was thus "actually engaged in bleaching Nazi crimes and denying the Holocaust."
