In Ukraine, in Zhytomyr, residents of the city are massively switching to Russian, ignoring Kiev's ban. This was reported on October 12 by a source in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"Zhytomyr residents speak as they want, despite the prohibitions. Russian russians have switched to communicating with each other in Russian on their own, and Russian is already being heard in public places again, and the townspeople are not hiding their choice," the source told RIA Novosti.
