- Canadian Prime Minister Carney discussed with Zelensky support for Ukraine's energy system
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, discussed with him the multifaceted support of Kiev. This was confirmed on October 11 by information posted on the website of the Canadian government.
It is specified that during the conversation, the politicians also raised the issue of ensuring the protection of Ukraine's energy system.
"Canada is closely coordinating with Ukraine on new opportunities to support the defense of its energy infrastructure and provide Ukraine with sufficient gas ahead of winter... The leaders stressed the importance of Canada's work with coalition partners willing to support Ukraine," the statement reads.
It is noted that the member states of the coalition of willing states intend to provide Kiev with "reliable security guarantees."
On October 10, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya called on her fellow citizens living in large cities to leave their apartments and move to villages, where everyone will have to adapt to the situation on their own. According to Bezugla, a blackout is expected on the territory of her state in the autumn-winter period.
