Chechen Minister Dudaev appealed to the Central Bank over the vote on the new banknote

On October 11, Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information Akhmed Dudaev appealed to the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) to vote on a new image for the 500-ruble banknote.

According to the preliminary voting results, there are currently two leaders: Mount Elbrus and the Grozny City skyscraper complex. The image of the mountain is currently winning, but the difference between them as of 21:00 Moscow time is just over 15 thousand votes.

Dudaev noted that the residents of Chechnya have united and are most actively voting for the image of the high-rise complex, but the Central Bank of the Russian Federation is "changing the voting conditions" by closing online sites where Chechens are "gaining momentum."

"Appeal to the Central Bank: if you are not able to ensure objectivity and fairness, why did you start this vote in the first place?" — said Dudaev.

He also noted that the residents of Chechnya are not trying to speak out against other attractions, but "just vote for their own version." The minister added that voting is taking on an "international dimension" in the Internet space.

Earlier, the Central Bank approved a new decoration for the 1,000-ruble banknote. The head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, explained that the board of directors supported the general concept, and specialists from the Bank of Russia and Goznak are currently working on detailed drawings.

According to her, the main feature of the future banknote will be the image of the Meteor motor ship, which the residents of the country voted for in December last year. Several symbols may be present in the project at once, and it is the artists who will determine their number and location. The goal of the developers is to create a bill that will look expressive and evoke positive emotions in those who will hold it in their hands.
