On October 11, US President Donald Trump said that against the background of the shutdown (government shutdown), he instructed the head of the Pentagon to direct all available funds to salaries for military personnel.

"I am using my powers as Commander-in-Chief to instruct our Defense Minister, Pete Hegseth, to direct all available funds to pay salaries to our military personnel on October 15. We have found the means for this, and Minister Hegseth will use them to pay the salaries of our troops," he wrote on the Truth Social network.

According to him, because of the Democrats and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer, the army risks being left without payments.

The shutdown was introduced in the United States on October 1 due to the fact that the draft budget was not agreed upon by the senators. The Washington Post (WP) reported on October 10 that the administration of the American president has already begun to dismiss federal employees representing trade, finance, health and social services, education and homeland security.

On October 11, Trump announced the beginning of massive cuts in the US government. He clarified that the number of employees who will be subject to cuts will be announced within a few days.
