The State Duma announced an increase in pensions from 2026 by 7.6%

In Russia, starting from January 1, 2026, it is planned to increase insurance pensions, including old—age pensions, by 7.6%, as a result of which they will grow by almost 2 thousand to 27.1 thousand rubles. This was announced on October 11 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

It is noted that regardless of whether a pensioner works or not, the pension will be raised in the following terms. Since January 1, for recipients of insurance pensions, there are about 38 million Russians, by 7.6%.

Also, starting from April 1, 2026, an increase is provided for recipients of social pensions, regardless of the specific category. Survivor's, disability and old-age pensions will increase by 6.8%.

Bessarab admitted that the amount of the pension increase may be revised based on the inflation rate by the end of 2025. Pensions for retired military personnel should also be increased in 2026. Their increase by 4% is currently planned in the budget.

On September 16, Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund, announced that pension indexation in Russia from 2026 will take place in two stages.
