The closing ceremony of the All-Russian campaign "Memorial Watch" was held near the village of Kuzovlevo in the Voronovo district (Troitskiy Administrative District of Moscow). According to the organizers, more than 500 people took part in the event on the territory of the memorial "Field of Military Glory of 1812 and 1941 — Long Height": search engines, veterans, residents, activists of youth movements from Moscow, Podolsk, Kaluga region and Buryatia.

This year, the Memory Watch started on April 26. Until mid-autumn, volunteers searched for unmarked graves and soldiers' graves on the border of Moscow and the Kaluga Region. It was there that the Narsk line of defense of the capital was held during the Great Patriotic War. The members of the search teams also worked in military archives, looking for relatives of the dead Red Army soldiers.

During the expeditions, members of the military-patriotic associations Narsky Rubezh (the Moscow City branch of the Russian Military Historical Society) and Memory discovered the remains of 26 Soviet soldiers this year. It was possible to identify the names of three fighters. These are two natives of the Kiev region of the Ukrainian SSR — Red Army soldier Stepan Voloshin and Second Lieutenant Joseph Luzanchuk, as well as Private Alexander Sinitsin from the Ryazan region.

As Vasily Kadov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, said, "we were all united during the war," and it didn't matter "who was born where." "We all have one Homeland, and we all fought shoulder to shoulder for it at the front," he said.

The search engines were assisted by Moscow scientists from the Laboratory of Anthropological Reconstruction of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. * They were able to create photo portraits of the three warriors based on their remains*. In the future, the volunteers plan to use artificial intelligence to analyze images and archive photos, which will help identify the victims.
