Turkey reported on the discussion of sending military to the Gaza Strip
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Organization and the Turkish Defense Ministry are discussing the details of a possible deployment of the country's military to the Gaza Strip. This was announced on October 11 by the head of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party, Abdullah Guler.
"The framework of this agreement will be determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, taking into account the specifics, the situation and the timing, after which a proposal will be put forward and an assessment will be carried out," TRT Haber TV channel quoted him as saying.
Guler noted that it concerns both the mutual ceasefire regime in Gaza and the subsequent measures that will be taken in the region. He also added that after completing the discussion of the details of the possible deployment of the Turkish military to Gaza, this proposal by Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan may be sent to the country's parliament for consideration.
On October 9, Israel and the Hamas movement signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time.
