Former NATO Secretary General shared his impressions of meetings with Putin and Lavrov

In his memoirs, former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg shared his impressions of meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

In the book, Stoltenberg talked about his first visit to Russia in 2001 as Prime Minister of Norway. According to him, then he and Putin had a positive attitude towards closer cooperation between Moscow and Oslo. Stoltenberg writes that over the years of further numerous negotiations, he has formed the impression of the Russian leader as a hardworking, rational and purposeful person.

Commenting on the meetings and conversations with Lavrov, Stoltenberg noted that the Russian minister gives the impression of a man "capable of withstanding any physical ordeal."
