The movement of money on the card itself is not taxable, but the Federal Tax Service (FTS) is interested in whether these receipts are income from activities. About this on October 11 in an interview Lenta.ru Arina Yusupova, deputy head of the legal department of the Console platform for cooperation with the self-employed.

The expert explained that if the receipts to the card are regular and resemble payment for services, the Federal Tax Service can treat them as income and impose additional tax with penalties. To protect against such sanctions, Yusupova advised to remain transparent: record the purpose of payments or work in the official self-employed mode.

It is noted that the main "alarming signals" for the Federal Tax Service are the regularity and mass of receipts, the same amounts, transfers from different persons and the absence of an explicit purpose of payment.

"For example, the transfer of 200 thousand rubles from parents to buy an apartment is unlikely to raise questions. But dozens of transfers of 5-10 thousand rubles a month from different clients for "consultations" or "services without a contract" can be regarded by the tax service as unaccounted for income," explained Yusupova.

She added that in such cases, the tax service may request explanations and account statements, and if a citizen cannot prove that the money is not related to commercial activities, the tax will be added with penalties and fines.

To prevent claims, she recommended maintaining transparency — recording the purpose of the payment, issuing receipts and contracts, or at least keeping correspondence confirming the nature of the transfer. For regular professional activity, it is worth using an official regime, for example, a tax on professional income.

On September 23, it was reported that major Russian banks began to massively reduce credit card limits. Complaints from VTB, Postbank, and Renaissance Bank customers show that the limits are reset suddenly, without prior notice or explanation. In some cases, the cards are blocked after the limit has been changed, which makes it difficult to pay even for daily expenses, despite compliance with all the bank's conditions.
