The reappointment of French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecorny, who voluntarily resigned, to his former post is an attempt by President Emmanuel Macron to prevent the dissolution of parliament. Philippe de Vell, a political scientist, lawyer, member of the Paris Bar Association, and head of the doctoral program at Paris Descartes University, told Izvestia on October 10.

"The appointment of Mr. Sebastien Lecorny as Prime Minister is a hypocritical move by the President of the Republic (Macron. — Ed.), who is trying by all means to avoid another dissolution of the National Assembly, which would be one of the ways to give the French people the opportunity to speak out again, at the initial stage," he said.

According to the politician, this decision is not the best in the current situation, in which France is moving towards an organized and "mathematically predictable chaos." Philippe de Vell suggests that there are only a few ways to prevent the worsening of the current crisis. He attributed the dissolution of the government to the first, and to the second, the most "wise and noble", the resignation of Macron, whose policy, as the expert emphasized, is full of lies.

"This crisis is very serious for me. For me, it began with the election of Mr. Macron. <...> He plans to stay until the end of his term in order to fully use the powers of the president. <...> Now he is buying time by appointing a Lecturer," the politician summed up.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called Lecorny's re-election as prime minister "an act of desperation", which is observed against the background of the crisis of democracy in France. According to her, this decision is evidence that the opinion of French citizens, who, according to Lecorny himself, need stability, is no longer taken into account.

On the same day, French political scientist Emmanuel Leroy called this situation a disaster for his country in a conversation with Izvestia. He pointed to Macron's lack of strategic trump cards.
