On October 11, during his visit to Pyongyang, Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, announced the launch of a new format of joint meetings, which will be attended by the committees on international affairs of the State Duma (DG) and the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

"We hope that we will launch <...> the format of joint meetings of the international affairs committees of the DPRK Parliament and the State Duma. I am sure that we will launch this format in the very near future," he said in an interview with TASS.

Slutsky expressed hope that the implementation of this idea will be completed by the end of 2025. According to him, meetings of the parties will be held on a regular basis, so a schedule of meetings may also appear in the near future.

On September 16, the Duma TV portal broadcast the first plenary session of the State Duma deputies in the autumn session, at which they expressed their gratitude to the Chairman of the State Affairs of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, and the entire Korean people for the fraternal assistance they provided to the Russian Federation. The footage showed some of them getting up from their seats and applauding the leader of the DPRK.
