President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the head of the White House, Donald Trump, to supply his country's armed forces with not only multi-purpose and high-precision Tomahawk missiles, but also HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as ATACMS ballistic missiles. This was reported on October 10 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

"We talked with President Trump during our meeting in New York about more than just Tomahawk. We were talking about HIMARS, and I mentioned ATACMS," he is quoted as saying in the publication.

The text notes that the Ukrainian president did not disclose what response to this initiative Trump gave him.

On October 6, the US President announced that he had practically decided to transfer the requested Tomahawk missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and later, on October 9, The Washington Post (WP) noted that the potential transfer of these munitions would mean that Trump had chosen a way to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.

On the same day, Vladimir Chizhov, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council's defense committee, called Tomahawk "the weapon of yesterday." According to him, these missiles, despite their power, are not the latest.
