- The expert business breakfast "The Future of mass sports in Russia" was held in Moscow
On October 10, an expert business breakfast "The Future of Mass Sports in Russia" was held, organized by the League of Heroes. The event was not just a business meeting, but was important for the development of the country's sports culture and allowed for a constructive dialogue between government, business, professional athletes, organizers and sports federations.
The main focus of the day was the plenary session, during which experts discussed trends, challenges and prospects for the development of mass sports in Russia. It was attended by Ksenia Shoigu, head of the League of Heroes and the Russian Triathlon Federation, Marat Filippov, Secretary of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, Vice-President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Timur Nagumanov, Senator of the Russian Federation from the Republic of Tatarstan, Nikita Nagorny, Olympic champion in gymnastics, figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, State Deputy Duma of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Curling Federation Dmitry Svishchev and other speakers.
The Association's goal will be to create a unified ecosystem of mass sports in the country, in close cooperation with government authorities, sports federations and organizers of mass sports events. Everyone whose task is to develop mass sports disciplines in the country will be involved in its work. Among the most important initiatives is the development of uniform standards for the quality and safety of competitions and the creation of a single window for shaping the strategy of mass sports.
Also on the sidelines of the forum, an agreement was signed between the Orion Foundation and the All–Russian People's Front. The partners established a joint initiative on sports prosthetics, which will be able to help the Foundation's students return to active life through sports.
In addition, the League of Heroes shared other plans for the future, including the holding of the tenth anniversary half marathon "Run.RF" and its international version of One Run, which should cover 35 countries on four continents. The company's flagship project "Race of Heroes", which will be held in China and the Persian Gulf countries for the first time, will also expand. This will make the League of Heroes the most geographically diverse organizer of mass sports events in the world.
"Using the example of figure skating, my sport, I can definitely say that mass sports are developing at a really accelerated pace now. Both the number and quality of competitions are growing, and there is really a lot of interest in Russian startups in foreign launches, in particular, in Asian ones. Therefore, it is very important and correct to hold such business meetings, during which the voice of both organizers and professional athletes and heads of federations can be heard," commented two-time world figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva.
