On October 14, in Moscow, at 19:00, the final of the eleventh All-Russian open festival of young poetry named after Leonid Filatov "Filatov Fest" will take place at the Central House of Actors named after A. A. Yablochkina.
The festival, founded in 2014 by poet and director Vlad Malenko, is being held for the eleventh time. Over the years, it has managed to become Russia's largest gathering of young poets. The age of the participants ranges from 18 to 35 years. This year, more than 2,000 applications were submitted from authors from almost all regions of Russia, as well as from abroad. Based on the results of the online selection, the jury members selected 106 authors who were included in the long list of the festival. All of them participated in face-to-face tours that took place in Moscow on the stage of the Mosconcert and at the Moscow House of Books. Based on the results of ten face-to-face rounds, three semi-finals and audience voting, 13 finalists from different regions of Russia were selected.
In the final, the winner of the festival and the winner of the audience award will be determined, as well as the winners in the separate nomination "Singing Poets" named after Vladimir Kachan and the nomination "For service to the ideals of honor and kindness".
The jury consists of famous cultural figures: director Nikita Vysotsky, Honored Artist Boris Galkin, People's Artists Evgeny Knyazev and Alexander Mikhailov, poet Alexander Shaganov and Vlad Malenko. The chairman of the jury of the finals is invariably the poet, writer Igor Volgin.
The main difference of the festival is that the organizers create social elevators for their laureates and winners. For example, the brightest of them join the organizing team and become artists of the Moscow Theater of Poets.
