The joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was presented in Paris

The first ever Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was shown at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris on October 10. The atmospheric film evening was held to the sounds of an accordion and a Russian balalaika.

"Today's film screening symbolizes strong Russian-Chinese relations based on mutual respect, cooperation and a desire for fruitful dialogue," said Alexei Meshkov, Russia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France.

He also called the film "Red Silk" an example of successful cooperation between Russia and China, confirming the countries' commitment to the development of cultural exchanges.

"Red Silk" is now triumphantly being released in the Chinese box office. In just a month, the detective action film collected almost $2 million and, despite serious competition, firmly established itself in the top 5 films, and in Russia it entered the top ten highest-grossing films of the year. There's a sequel ahead. Filming of "Black Silk" is already underway, the premiere is scheduled for 2027.

"This film takes us back to 1924. It tells the story of how Russians and Chinese fought side by side to protect important documents. A story of understanding, trust and humanity," said Deng Li, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to France.

He added that it is necessary to intensify cultural exchanges, as they contribute to mutual understanding between the countries.

The Russian-Chinese historical blockbuster "Red Silk" was widely released in China on September 6. At the same time, Chinese viewers shared their impressions after watching the painting. The film will be shown until October 10. By October 9, the blockbuster had grossed almost $2 million at the Chinese box office.

The film was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding. The film's distributor in China is the largest film corporation, China Film Group.
