A hole has formed in the asphalt on Furmanova Street in Lipetsk.
In Lipetsk, a hole was formed in the asphalt between houses No. 14 and 16 on Furmanova Street. The road surface was washed away by cold water that flowed down the street from October 9 to October 9, GOROD48 reports.
The sinkhole is located at the place where the city water supply company RVC changed the pipes a year earlier. According to local residents, they currently do not have cold water and no work is underway to eliminate the accident.
As stated in the energy company itself, the water supply burst on the street. A team was sent to the scene, which turned off the water to prevent flooding of private homes.
The repair of the water pipeline is scheduled for the coming weekend, RVC added. It is impossible to approach the pipe now — it runs along the fences of private houses, while the sandy soil is heavily flooded and can form quicksand. This makes it impossible to safely perform work before it is drained.
