A worker was electrocuted at the construction site of a residential complex in Tyumen

A worker received a fatal electric shock during the construction of an apartment building in Tyumen. This was announced on Friday, October 10, according to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

The tragedy occurred in June 2025 at the facility on Timofey Karmatsky Street. When installing plumbing pipes, a 22-year-old man plugged an extension cord into an outlet, the wire of which was on the floor with broken insulation in the water. As a result, the builder received an electric shock, from which he died.

Law enforcement officers established that the deceased was allowed to perform work without official employment. The prosecutor's office appealed to the court with a demand to recognize the fact of the employment relationship and collect compensation from the company for the benefit of the victim's parents.

During the proceedings, the parties entered into a settlement agreement: the defendant pledged to pay 500 thousand rubles. 350 thousand rubles were handed over to the relatives in the courtroom. According to the <url> news agency, the execution of the decision is under the control of the prosecutor's office.
