Russian President Vladimir Putin began communicating with journalists following his visit to Tajikistan on October 10.

In Dushanbe, the President held talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, and also took part in the Russia—Central Asia summit and the meeting of leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

The CIS Council of Heads of State signed a decision on the establishment of the CIS+ format and granting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) observer status in the Commonwealth.

On Friday, Vladimir Putin said that Russia supports the decision to create the CIS+ format. According to the Russian president, such a measure will make it possible to more actively involve other states and international structures in the commonwealth of organizations.
