Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime on civilian targets in the territory of the Russian Federation, the Russian army, using high-precision weapons and attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), inflicted a massive blow on energy infrastructure facilities that provided the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.

In addition, during the week, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out massive and six group strikes on military industry enterprises and Ukrainian energy facilities that provided them, railway and marine infrastructure used to transport weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), fuel depots, storage sites and preparation for the launch of UAVs, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations, nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

The North group of troops liberated the village of Otradnoye in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1.3 thousand militants, two tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 63 vehicles and 21 field artillery guns. In turn, the Southern Group of Troops took control of the settlements of Kuzminovka and Fedorovka in the DPR and completed the destruction of Ukrainian armed formations in the area south of the Kleban-Byk reservoir in the region.

"Units of the Vostok group of forces have liberated the settlements of Novovasilevskoye and Novogrigorovka in the Zaporizhia region. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, marine brigades, air defense brigades and National Guard brigades were defeated. The enemy's losses in this area amounted to over 2,360 military personnel, three tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 108 vehicles, eight field artillery guns, seven radio—electronic and counter-battery warfare stations," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During the week, air defense systems shot down 18 guided aerial bombs, 30 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, a long-range guided missile "Neptune", as well as 1,719 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 667 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 89,433 UAVs, 631 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,446 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,598 multiple launch rocket launchers, 30,348 field artillery and mortars, 43,620 pieces of special vehicles.
