The expert named favorable dates and times for buying train tickets for the New Year

It is better to buy train tickets as early as possible, especially before the New Year holidays and during peak seasons. This was stated on October 12 to Izvestia by Emil Ziyadinov, Director of development of the partner network of the Tutu travel service.

"You shouldn't buy train tickets at the last moment. Although prices remain stable up to a few days before departure, convenient seats are dismantled immediately after the opening of sales, and during school holidays or on holiday weekends, you can be left without tickets altogether," the expert emphasized.

According to Ziyadinov, train ticket prices depend on seasonal coefficients. For example, traveling by train from January 9 to January 31 is 20% cheaper, and from June 13 to August 31 is 20% more expensive. At the same time, the price of reserved seats is more stable than for compartment tickets: it does not increase closer to the date of the trip.

The day of the week on which the trip is planned and the departure time of the train also affect the cost, the expert added. He said it was cheaper to buy train tickets departing at the beginning of the week, and more expensive on weekends. At the same time, night flights are cheaper, but the ticket price changes more often.

On October 9, it was reported that Russians began actively buying tours for the New Year holidays. According to the Tourvisor aggregator, the average cost of a tour for the last days of December and the beginning of January is 275 thousand rubles for 9 nights for two. This is almost 1.5 times more expensive than the average annual cost of tours, which is 182 thousand rubles.
