Israel announced the release of hostages from Gaza early next week.
Israel expects the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip on October 13 or 14. This was announced on October 10 by Dmitry Gendelman, adviser to the Office of the Prime Minister of the country.
"The Israeli hostages will be released on Monday or Tuesday," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Gendelman, in exchange, the Israeli side will release 250 convicted terrorists and 1,700 Gazans. They will be permanently banned from entering the country and the territory of Judea and Samaria.
He added that the deal was approved by the government of the country late in the evening, but it was not voted on in the security cabinet. In addition, Gendelman noted that the head of the Israeli Defense Ministry, Israel Katz, instructed the IDF to respond harshly to any attacks during the transition period.
On October 9, Al Jazeera reported that the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Khalil al-Haya, announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that the agreement implies a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the region, and the arrival of humanitarian aid.
On the same day, Israeli Government spokesman Shosh Bedrosian announced that a 72-hour period for the release and return of hostages would begin 24 hours after the Israeli Government meeting. She stressed that Israel is preparing to take hostages "in any condition they may find themselves in."
