Football club (FC) Orenburg has announced the appointment of Ildar Akhmetzyanov as the head coach of the team. The relevant information was published on the club's official website on October 10.
"Ildar Raushanovich Akhmetzyanov is a 41—year-old Russian specialist. During his football career, Ildar Raushanovich played in the first and higher leagues. He defended the colors of Neftekhimik, Spartak (Shchelkovo), Amkar, Sibir and KAMAZ," the statement said.
Akhmetzyanov has been in charge of KAMAZ since November 2020, in 175 matches the team won 61, drew 47 times and suffered 67 defeats. KAMAZ ranks sixth in the first league of the 2025/26 season, scoring 22 points in 13 matches, adds Sport-Express.
Earlier, on October 5, Orenburg head coach Vladimir Slishkovich resigned from his post. He has been in charge of the team since October 2024.
