A killer and his accomplice were detained in Lyubertsy for a crime committed 23 years ago.

Investigators of the territorial investigation department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region detained the killer and his accomplice for the murder of Vadim Menis, director of Lyceum No. 10 named after Yuri Gagarin, in 2002.

"Thanks to the coordinated work of investigators, criminologists and operational staff of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after 23 years, it was possible to obtain information and evidence of the involvement of two men in the crime. One of them was a resident of Lyubertsy, the other lived in the DPR," the report says.

It was established that on October 10, 2002, Vadim Menis, an honored teacher of Russia, a corresponding member of the Academy of Economic Sciences, was shot by a killer on the territory of the lyceum. The lyceum staff was also injured, having received gunshot wounds and a witness to the incident.

According to the investigation, in 2002, one of the criminal authorities ordered the murder of the lyceum's director, paying the killer $ 300. However, five months after the murder, the customer died in an accident. In addition, the defendants attempted to murder two more people.

Currently, interrogations and on-site evidence checks have been conducted. The investigation is also requesting the arrest of both defendants. It is noted that two defendants in the case have been charged under criminal articles Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105, paragraphs "w, z" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

He was found guilty under paragraph "g" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder"), part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal carrying of weapons and ammunition"), part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs "a", "i" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder murder")
