The most comfortable lighting for the eyes is soft, natural light, while trying to avoid too dim and bright a source. This was announced on October 10 by ophthalmologist, ophthalmic surgeon of JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg clinic) Igor Malyatsinsky.

"When the surroundings are too bright or, conversely, dark, the eyes experience increased tension. The result is fatigue, burning, and sometimes a sharp drop in performance. The ideal option is diffused natural light," he said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

According to the ophthalmologist, when working in the dark, it is necessary to use a narrow-angle table lamp with warm light and make sure that there are no glare on the screen.

It is also important to take care of the screen settings. It is necessary to reduce the brightness to a comfortable level, especially in the evening, turn on the night light mode or the blue light filter, which makes the image warmer, which causes less irritation.

In addition, Maliatsinsky noted that in case of persistent visual impairment, pressure, pain or burning sensation in the eyes, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

On October 9, the press service of Sechenov University informed Izvestia about the successful application of a comprehensive technique that makes it possible to diagnose and predict the development of congenital aniridia, a rare genetic disease. Early diagnosis helps prevent serious complications that can lead to blindness.
