The Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Club (HC) lost to the Ottawa Senators HC with a score of 4:5 in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match, despite two goals from Russian Nikita Kucherov. The meeting took place on October 9th in Tampa.

The victory for Ottawa was brought by 24-year-old Canadian Dylan Cozens, who scored in the 11th minute, 30-year-old Russian defender Artem Zubov (21st), 24-year-old American Shane Pinto (36th, 59th) and 37-year-old Canadian Claude Giroux (60th).

30-year-old Dane Oliver Bjorkstrand (6th), 29-year-old Canadian Brayden Point (7th) and Russian striker Nikita Kucherov (15th, 60th) scored for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

HC Washington Capitals, for which Russian striker Alexander Ovechkin plays, was defeated by the Boston Bruins on October 8 with a score of 1:3 in the NHL regular season match. The winners included 29-year-old Czech striker David Pastrniak (33rd minute), 30-year-old Swede Elias Lindholm (48th) and 27-year-old Canadian Morgan Geeky (60th). Canadian forward Tom Wilson scored the only goal for Washington (48th).
