Russian President Vladimir Putin has initiated the construction of trunk routes through Central Asia. He announced this on October 9 during his speech at the Central Asia—Russia summit.

"We are ready to work with you to build new logistics and transport chains, while the key task is to arrange the main North—South and East—West routes passing through the territories of our countries, as well as the construction of new transcontinental corridors," the Russian president said.

The Russian President is expected to hold talks with Emomali Rahmon, Ilham Aliyev and participate in two summits.

On October 9, the official website of the President of Tajikistan reported that the participants of the Russia—Central Asia summit in Dushanbe had adopted a joint action plan for 2025-2027.
