The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has identified five of the most common fraud schemes related to food delivery. This follows from the materials that TASS reviewed on Friday, October 10.

One of the common schemes is to create fake websites and applications that mimic popular food delivery services. Entering data on such resources leads to the theft of information, including card data.

The second scheme includes false payment errors and attempts to refund money for the order. Fraudsters request card details or SMS codes, promising to refund the funds.

The third scheme is related to the substitution of orders or the delivery of "pacifiers". Fraudsters, posing as couriers, deliver incomplete or replaced meals, demanding an additional fee for this.

The top 5 schemes also include phishing links in SMS or instant messengers that redirect to fake pages to track orders or receive discounts, as well as schemes promising non-existent promotions and bonuses to lure victims to fake sites.

The day before, it became known that in Russia, telephone fraudsters, posing as employees of a polyclinic, convince pensioners to provide personal data allegedly to retake tests. Soon after, victims receive calls from people who pose as security forces and accuse them of financing banned organizations. Scammers offer to transfer money to a "secure account" to avoid problems.
