Kim Jong-un personally thanked Russian artists for performing in Pyongyang
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un attended a concert by artists from Russia in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and personally thanked them for their performance. This was reported on October 10 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
It is specified that Kim Jong-un went up on stage and expressed gratitude to the Russian artists. The North Korean leader also said that this event would make a tangible contribution to further relations between the two countries.
Performances took place at the Mansudeh Theater, where Honored Artist of Russia, singer and songwriter SHAMAN (real name Yaroslav Dronov), artists of the State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after M.E. Pyatnitsky, the Alla Dukhova Ballet Theater Todes and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed.
KCNA reported on October 9 that a delegation of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, which also included SHAMAN, arrived in Pyongyang at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the DPRK in honor of the 80th anniversary of the WPK. At the airport, the delegation was met by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the DPRK and related departments, as well as the Russian Ambassador to the DPRK.
