An unknown unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was spotted over the NATO airbase in Geilenkirchen in western Germany. This was reported on October 9 by Der Spiegel magazine, citing sources.

According to the publication, radars detected the UAV in the base's security zone on October 8 at about 19:00 local time (20:00 Moscow time). The drone flew at a low altitude over the runway.

It is specified that an alarm was announced at the base, the military and police arrived at the scene. The type of drone has not been identified.

The VRT NWS TV channel, citing military expert Jens Franssen, reported on October 3 that about 15 unknown UAVs were discovered over the Elsenborn military base in Belgium. It was clarified that unknown drones appeared over the military territory of Elsenborn and penetrated German airspace.
