The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has attacked a cell of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in northern Gaza. This was announced on October 9 by the IDF press service.
"The IDF attacked a Hamas terrorist cell in the north of the Gaza Strip, which operated in close proximity to the army positions and represented an immediate threat," the press service said in a Telegram channel.
On the same day, Al Jazeera TV channel reported that the Israel Defense Forces had attacked the center of Gaza City, as a result of which a residential building was damaged.
On October 9, the media reported that Israel and Hamas had signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages. The Ynet portal reported on the same day that the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip had entered into force. Osama Hamdan, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said that the movement had received a guarantee from intermediaries and the Israeli side would not resume hostilities in the enclave.
