The domestic Amberauto A5 electric car became the segment's bestseller for the first time.

By the end of September 2025, the Amberauto A5 sedan, which is produced in Kaliningrad, became the best-selling model among all-electric passenger cars in Russia for the first time. At the same time, the domestic brand Amberauto entered the top three brands in the segment, which also happened for the first time. This follows from the data of the Autostat agency, which Izvestia reviewed on October 10.

Sales of the new "Amberauto A5" in September amounted to 153 units, which is 565.2% more than in early autumn last year (23 units). In second place in the model rating is the Zeekr 001 (135 units; -68.2%).

For each of the other models, sales did not exceed the 100 mark. The third was the Moskvich 3e, followed by two more domestic—built electric cars, the Evolute i-Pro and i-Joy. The top ten was rounded out by the Zeekr 7X, Avatr 11, Xiaomi YU7, Zeekr 009 and Zeekt X. In just one month, 1,247 electric vehicles were sold (-2% compared to September 2024).

In the brand rating, the top three included Zeekr (303 units; -48.3%), Evolve (166 units; +191.2%) and Amberauto (153 units; +565.2%). This is followed by BYD, Moskvich, Xiaomi, Avatr, Tesla, Geely and BMW.

According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, the bestseller in the electric vehicle segment is the Zeekr 001 (1,224 units; -69.5%), followed by the Evolve i-Pro (817 units; +22.7%) and Moskvich 3e (780 units; -27%). The top three brands are formed from them in the same order.

Earlier, on September 8, it became known that in Russia, as of mid-summer of this year, 138.5 thousand electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids were registered. More than half (52.9%) of this number are plug-in hybrids or plug-in hybrids.

On September 3, it was reported that, as First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said, in Russia by 2030, according to the objectives of the federal project, it is planned to produce over 183 thousand electric vehicles and cars with a sequential hybrid power plant.
