The Democratic Union of the Center (UDC) party has demanded that the protective status for refugees from Ukraine be revoked. A corresponding statement was posted on the party's official website on October 8.

"We call on the Federal Council to immediately put an end to its unfair policies and preserve the interests of the Swiss people. In particular, the UDC requires: do not extend the protection status S (designed to provide temporary protection in Switzerland to persons who have left Ukraine. — Ed.). Immediately consider revoking the S protection status for everyone. Limit protection to persons who have arrived from combat zones," the requirement says.

In addition, the party requested to combat tourist trips to Ukraine, and also called for the introduction of work obligations for able-bodied refugees and in the future to transfer anyone who does not receive a paid job within 12 months to an emergency category.

It is clarified that the relevant statement is associated with the catastrophic financial consequences of the temporary refugee protection policy for Switzerland.

Polish MP Slawomir Mentzen said on October 6 that Ukrainians should not become deputies in the Polish parliament. He also called for an end to the granting of Polish citizenship to Ukrainians and noted the need to extend the period for obtaining it. According to the MP, Polish interests should be a priority.
