- Suponitsky's wife told about a meeting with her husband's killer a few days before the tragedy
On October 9, Alice, the wife of St. Petersburg architect Alexander Suponitsky, told Izvestia that she had seen the alleged murderer of her husband Konstantin Kozyrev in the house a few days before the tragedy.
"I met him in two or three days at the front door. I also thought that someone had moved in with us. We know a lot of people. He took the elevator up to our floor for some reason. And we rode together. First we said hello, then I said goodbye, and he looked at me like that and said goodbye too," the woman said.
She also added that their daughter was with Suponitsky during the massacre. Kozyrev met them at the elevators and ordered them to kneel, but after that the man told the girl to go home.
Suponitsky was shot dead at an elevator in a building on Kremenchugskaya Street in St. Petersburg the day before. Businessman Konstantin Kozyrev, suspected of murder, went to the apartment he rented after the massacre, where he started a fire and committed suicide.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on murder committed with extreme cruelty.
Later, a source from Izvestia reported that the architect's murder was allegedly due to his debt of $5 million. This is evidenced by the corresponding receipt on behalf of the murdered man. The source also said that before his death, Kozyrev wrote a message to his ex-wife. According to the source, the suspect wrote that "there will be searches" and "he could not have done otherwise."
