Israel and Hamas sign cease-fire agreement

Israel and Hamas have signed an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages. This was reported on October 9 by the Reuters news agency.

"Officials from both sides have confirmed that they signed the agreement after indirect talks in the Egyptian beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages <...> in exchange for hundreds of prisoners held by Israel," the newspaper reports.
