The Russian Security Council noted an increase in attacks on critical information infrastructure

The number of crimes against objects of the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation has increased almost fourfold. This was announced on October 9 by the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation following a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on information security.

Despite the decrease in the dynamics of the increase in the number of remote thefts, fraud and other computer crimes in 2025, their number remains consistently high. The number of criminal acts committed against vulnerable segments of the population, primarily the disabled and minors, continues to grow, the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation emphasized.

"In order to fend off these threats, the Commission members paid special attention to organizational and technical measures to improve the effectiveness of ways and methods of combating computer crimes, as well as developed additional regulatory measures in this area, including strengthening the responsibility of criminals for their actions," the report says.

A meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Russian Security Council on Information Security was held on October 9. The meeting addressed the issues of countering crimes committed using information and communication technologies.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Head of the Presidential Administration Anton Vaino, Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and other heads of federal agencies.
