The Central Bank of the Russian Federation may allow banks to work with cryptocurrencies, but will set strict capital restrictions and reserve standards for them. This was announced on October 9 by the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank, Vladimir Chistyukhin, during the Finopolis forum.

"We are conservatives, we think, but how much is it, for example, the banking business, to take crypto on our balance sheets? After discussion with our professional banking community, we came to the conclusion that it probably makes sense not to exclude banks from these operations," Interfax quoted him as saying.
