Megafon has launched a new data processing center in St. Petersburg
Megafon has commissioned a new data processing center based on import-substituted equipment in St. Petersburg, the operator's press service reported.
"A distinctive feature of our infrastructure facility, along with the domestic origin of the equipment, is its energy efficiency. We designed and built the data center based on our own technical expertise and unique Russian engineering experience. A special point of pride is the domestic climate control equipment, which is in no way inferior to its global counterparts in terms of energy efficiency. Moreover, we are constantly increasing the volume of import substitution, which provides an incentive for local developers and manufacturers to develop, as well as strengthens the technological sovereignty of the industry," said Alexey Titov, Technical Director of Megafon.
The center is built using modular technology, which will further scale the infrastructure and accommodate more than 800 racks with a total capacity of up to 14 MW. Russian-made ventilation systems provide climatic stability in the machine rooms of the new data processing center. They automatically select the optimal mode of operation, taking into account the temperature and humidity of the air. Depending on the weather conditions, air or liquid cooling is used, as well as freon compressors. Energy efficiency is increased by creating hermetic zones with insulation of the "hot" corridor, which reduces energy consumption and increases equipment productivity.
In addition to climate control systems, the data center is equipped with domestic fire protection systems, transformers and high-voltage equipment. Monitoring of the functioning of all systems is carried out around the clock in an automated mode through a specialized monitoring system.
