Contractors and developers will be required to post only reliable information about major repairs of apartment buildings in the state housing and communal Services information system (GIS Housing and communal services). Severe fines are provided for violations, Roman Lyabikhov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction, Housing and Communal Services, told Izvestia.

Since the beginning of the implementation of the relevant federal program, more than 5,000 institutions have already been repaired.

Companies will be fined from 5 to 10 thousand rubles for false or incomplete data, and up to 20 thousand rubles for repeated violations. Ignoring the inspection requirements will also result in penalties.

According to him, at present, the real information about residential real estate and their technical condition in public authorities is practically scanty and far from reliable. Full-fledged and objective information is necessary for the adoption of state regulatory mechanisms in the field of MCD maintenance.

"If, for example, a contractor writes that a new facade has been made in the house, but residents do not see this, they can complain — inspectors will come and check the work and documents," the parliamentarian explained.

According to him, the new requirements of the housing legislation are aimed at expanding the powers of the state housing inspections (GJI) and strengthening control over the reliability of information on capital repairs. This will allow us to generate complete and objective data on the common property of apartment buildings, its technical condition and the work carried out.

Earlier it became known that from March 1, 2026, the State Housing Inspectorate will begin to monitor the reliability of information about major repairs in the Housing and Communal Services GIS registry.
