On Saturday, October 11, at 17:00, the MUZ-TV channel will air a new edition of The Battle of Generations, a large—scale show in which the masters of the Russian stage will compete with young and ambitious artists in musical duels. This time, the show will feature a hip-hop legend, an artist who showed what a real Russian gangsta rap is - SERYOGA, and a true master of catchy choruses who has become the voice of his generation — LYRIQ.

"To be honest, I listened to a few tracks on the radio, but I didn't know it was LYRIQ, because modern tracks are often so similar to each other that it's hard to tell the difference," Serega said.

LYRIQ, in turn, called Serega one of the first who really mixed lyrics, musicality, melody in choruses, harmonies, and arrangements, and at the same time explained it tightly, coolly, "like a rapper" in verses.

The performances of the artists will be evaluated by a jury from different generations: the masters will be represented by Nikolai Baskov, Yana Rudkovskaya and Joseph Prigozhin, and the performances from the younger generation will be evaluated by Vanya Dmitrienko, MIA BOYKA, Anet Say. Constant project presenter Konstantin Anisimov will be the guide in this musical battle.

In the most tender round of "Love Song" LYRIQ soulfully performed his poignant lyrical composition Forever Young. SERYOGA, in turn, surprised the audience and the jury with his choice of song, performing the track "Gucci Prada". However, not all judges were happy with such a bold decision.

"From year to year, many experienced artists constantly speak towards our modern generation about the meager lyrics that sound on the charts. But how boneless is the text here! I don't understand at all: "Gucci", "Prada", "naked body" <...> You're a poet! And really, the music is great! How full it is, but there is nothing in the text to cling to," Vanya Dmitrienko emphasized.

SERYOGA noted that the choice of composition can explain to the younger generation that "it is not necessary to write such texts"

"This is my first time at this celebration, and you know, you always think, "How can I not offend and how can I tell the truth?" I always pay special attention to the lyrics. I really love beautiful songs, and what SERYOGA does is cool, but it's probably for older women," Prigozhin added.

In the most experimental "Opponent's Cover" round, LYRIQ presented its own interpretation of Serega's hit "Near Your House", rethinking the author's interpretation. Thanks to the new arrangement and organic interweaving of new lines, the musician turned the composition into a personal story that more deeply reflects the inner world and creative manner of the performer: "... I didn't write gangsta rap to you - I wrote songs, though not so audaciously, but it will be honest ...". SERYOGA gave the rival's song "Everything is in Shock" its unique style and sound, making it even more dynamic and perky.

"My reasoning is this: let's say that LYRIQ's song and Serega's song come out in this performance. Would I want to listen to Seryogina a second time? I'm not sure. And I want Lyrics," Rudkovskaya said.

In addition, for the first time in the history of the Battle of Generations, a representative of the Basque jury took to the stage at SERYOGA to perform a big hit together.

On October 4, a new episode of the show "Battle of Generations" was broadcast on MUZ-TV. This time, singer Julianna Karaulova and the Lyceum musical group met in a musical duel. Karaulova performed her ballad "Beyond the Orbit", and the Lyceum group presented the lyrical composition "She no longer believes in love."
