Tajikistan's economy is growing very actively, and therefore it is a good market that Russia needs to occupy. This was announced on October 9 by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov in an interview with Izvestia.

"First of all, Tajikistan's economy is growing very actively. And that's why it's such a good market that needs to be occupied," Reshetnikov said.

He noted that there is also active competition in the Tajik market, with Chinese partners and a number of other countries present. The Russian Federation actively supplies mineral products, metal products, agricultural products, oil refining and woodworking products, Reshetnikov added.

Russia, in turn, receives fruits and textile products. According to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, it is advantageous to bring something labor-intensive to Tajikistan, since the country has a lower cost of labor.

"That's why the shoe industry and the textile industry are developing here. And this is beneficial to our economy as well, because prices are falling. And we can use this work in other directions," said Reshetnikov.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that relations between Russia and Tajikistan are developing in all areas, including the trade and economic sphere. He cited data on the growth of trade turnover, which amounted to more than 7% last year, and more than 17% in the first seven months of this year. The Russian leader stressed that it is important to maintain this positive trend.
