Snow may fall in Moscow in the last days of October. Alexander Shuvalov, a weather forecaster, meteorologist, and climatologist, told Izvestia on October 9.

As for the total amount of precipitation in October, the expert stressed that forecasts for a longer period have less reliability.

"It is not possible to talk about a large amount of precipitation before the end of the month. Precipitation forecasts are always more reliable only for the next 3-5 days," Shuvalov said.

In addition, the forecaster added that temperature fluctuations are expected in the coming weeks. Negative temperatures are possible at night, which can lead to snowfall.

The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said on the same day that by now about 60% of Russia's territory is covered with snow, and the situation will not change by the end of the week. So, in Taimyr, the snow has already exceeded the mark of 14-16 cm, while in Yakutia the snow has reached 13-18 cm. He added that snow is now almost completely covering the Siberian Federal District.
