- The Russian Embassy reported on the massive nature of the non-admission of Russians to South Korea.
The non—admission of Russians to South Korea is widespread - both young girls and entire families with children are deployed at the border. Almost everyone is interrogated about their knowledge of Seoul's landmarks. The Russian Embassy informed Izvestia about this on October 9.
"A lot of people are coming back. Only recently, last week, four people were not allowed in, and these are the only ones who applied," the embassy representative said.
According to the agency, on October 2, out of five people in the group, only one girl was allowed through, the rest had their phones taken away, they could not name the sights, and they were deployed.
A Russian tourist wanted to visit Jeju Island, and her hotel had already been paid for, but she was not allowed in Seoul due to the lack of tickets to the island, the embassy said.
Presumably, the main reason is the fight against unwanted migration, therefore, tourists are not allowed to enter under the pretext of not knowing the place of interest, the department noted. The diplomatic mission also added that South Korea is on the list of unfriendly countries.
Earlier that day, PCT expert Mikhail Abasov, CEO of VCP Travel, said that the problems with entry to South Korea for Russians are related to non-compliance with the basic requirements of the authorities of this country. According to him, some tourists did not have return tickets or hotels booked, while others could not clearly explain the purpose of the visit or the route of travel.
On October 7, it became known that Ulyana, a resident of St. Petersburg, was held in a deportation room in South Korea after she could not name the country's attractions in Korean. As the girl pointed out, Korean border guards often took Russians out of the queue for an additional interview. According to her, it asked questions that "anyone would hardly have answered."
