- The Russian Foreign Ministry repeated Putin's uncompromising position on the supply of Tomahawk to Kiev.
During a briefing on October 8, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova repeated the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said that the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine by the United States would damage relations between the Russian and American sides.
"Again, the Russian leadership has repeatedly said this. The relevant decision of the US administration, I repeat, if it is eventually adopted, will not only lead to a spiral of confrontation, but will also cause irreparable damage to Russian-American relations," she said.
According to Zakharova, the main missile is not the transfer of missiles by the American side to Kiev, but the fact that the use of Tomahawk is simply impossible without the participation of military personnel from the United States.
On the same day, Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on information policy, expressed concerns about the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, saying that this could lead to an "unlimited missile conflict" and an escalation of the crisis situation.
On October 6, US President Donald Trump announced that he had actually made a decision to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not explain what it was. The American leader clarified that he would like to know the purpose of using missiles and that he would not like to see an escalation in the Ukrainian conflict.
