The Palestinian radical movement Hamas and Israel have reached a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Their agreement provides for the withdrawal of Israeli army troops, the arrival of aid and the exchange of hostages for prisoners. Read more about the agreement in the Izvestia article.

What is known about the agreement

Hamas and Israel plan to sign an agreement on October 9th. According to the American leader Donald Trump, this will mean the imminent release of all hostages, as well as the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to the agreed line. In his opinion, this should lead to a long-term peace between the parties.

In addition, according to Al Jazeera, the Palestinian movement confirmed the agreement. In addition, Hamas representatives called on the US president and the mediators in resolving the conflict to prevent Israel from evading the terms of the agreement.

The Israeli Prime Minister also said that he plans to convene the government on October 9 in order to agree on the first stage of the American side's plan for a settlement in Gaza.

The US president, in turn, announced his intention to travel to the Middle East for negotiations at the end of this week. He also noted that he does not exclude the possibility of visiting Gaza. According to him, his presence is required to conclude a deal between the Palestinian side and Israel.
