The circumstances of the incident

According to preliminary information, Suponitsky was shot dead at the moment when he was escorting his daughter to school. The body was discovered by the spouse, who heard the girl's scream. According to the Izvestia source, immediately after that, she hid the children in the bathroom and called the police.

In addition, there was a fire at the crime scene. The body of Konstantin Kozyrev, former deputy director of Petrotrest Holding, was found in the five-room apartment where the fire broke out. He later became a suspect in the murder.

The businessman shot the architect, returned to his apartment and committed suicide. In addition, Kozyrev wrote a message to his ex-wife on the day of the tragedy. According to the Izvestia source, the suspect said in it that "there will be searches" today, and also that "he could not have done otherwise."

It is specified that Suponitsky and Kozyrev had known each other for more than 15 years, the architect's brother was building a house next to the entrepreneur's plot. Moreover, Suponitsky was preparing a project for a country house for the Kozyrev family. At the same time, there were debt obligations between the men, and one of the parties had a problem paying back the debt.

According to the receipt on behalf of the victim, the incident could have occurred due to a debt of $ 5 million. It is known that in 2019, the architect borrowed more than $3 million from the businessman.

It was later reported that Suponitsky had recently won a major tender for a job in Moscow. According to the Izvestia source, the architect's murder is connected precisely with his professional activities. Suponitsky's company, registered as an individual entrepreneur, was located in the Moskovsky district of St. Petersburg. His monthly salary was about 400 thousand rubles.
