The leader of the ANO movement that won the parliamentary elections ("Action of Dissatisfied Citizens") Andrei Babis, who is running for the post of Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, said on October 8 that the country would not allocate "a single crown" from its budget for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.

"We will not give Ukraine a single crown for weapons. We don't have the money for the Czech Republic itself," Denik newspaper quoted him as saying.

The politician also noted that the Czech Republic contributes billions to the budget of the European Union (EU), which helps Ukraine.

The victory of the ANO in the elections in the Czech Republic became known on October 4. It is noted that outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala congratulated the representatives of the ANO.

As Alexey Pushkov, chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, later noted, Hungary may have a new ally in the European Union after the victory of the ANO political movement in the Czech Republic.
