Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov checked the department's facilities in Tajikistan. This was announced on October 8 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"As part of a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov visited the Russian 201st military base and a separate optical and electronic node located on the territory of the republic," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that Belousov checked the equipment of the units with modern weapons and military equipment. In addition, the minister was presented with ground-based robotic systems capable of performing a wide range of tasks, from delivering food and ammunition to destroying the enemy. The Minister also held a meeting to discuss the current state of affairs at the base, the conduct of exercises and combat training.
"The main armament of the node is an upgraded optoelectronic complex designed to detect and recognize space objects," Colonel-General Alexander Golovko reported to Belousov.
Earlier, on September 18, Belousov discussed promising areas of cooperation with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, General Christopher Gwabin Musa. It is noted that Belousov also thanked the members of the Nigerian delegation for the participation of the country's military in the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2025 as observers.
