The components for the improvised explosive device (IED) used by the organizers of the terrorist attack to kill Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces, were transferred from Poland. This was announced on October 8 by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
"In the fall of 2024, the organizers planned to ship components of an improvised explosive device disguised as household items from Poland to Russia," the agency's website says.
The cargo was delivered to one of the defendants in the case, Robert Safaryan. The investigation of the criminal case, which also includes Akhmadjon Kurbonov, Batukhan Tochiev and Ramazan Padiev, has been completed. The accused will appear in court, the Newspaper added.Ru». Another person involved is a citizen of Ukraine, Andrei Gedzik. He is currently on the federal wanted list. All five are included in the list of terrorists and extremists of the Russian Federation.
Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov died on the morning of December 17, 2024, as a result of the detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter at the entrance of an apartment building in Moscow. On January 16, the Moscow court detained three defendants in the criminal case — Tochiev, Kurbonov and Padiev.
On August 17, the investigative authorities completed a preliminary investigation into the murder case. 11 people were recognized as victims in the criminal case. On September 19, the charges against the defendants in the case were increased. They can receive up to 15 years in prison, and the organizer of the crime faces a life sentence.
